Current American Red Cross Lifeguards can renew your Lifeguard, CPR/AED & First Aid certification FAST with this class. Our new accelerate blended learning Lifeguard Re-Certification Program allows you to start your training right away, at your convenience, from any computer. You’ll complete your online program by watching videos, answering questions, and reviewing your Lifeguard participant manual. We’ll focus your in-person training time with hands on CPR/AED & First Aid skill reviews and then we’ll get in the pool to review & practice your water rescue skills. At the end of the day, you’ll test out of the program by successfully performing water rescue scenarios.

As always, you must meet current swim requirements: 300-yd continuous swim using front crawl and breaststroke. 2 minute tread using only your legs. Timed event – swim and retrieve a 10-pound object from a depth of 7-10 feet. Returning to the surface with the object and exit the pool without the use of the ladder or stairs. Successful completion of the course includes a 2 year Lifeguard & First Aid/CPR/AED certificate.

Lifeguard CertificationYou are required to have an Adult & Pediatric Resuscitation Mask for the class. If you already own these masks, bring them to class. Otherwise you can purchase both masks in a kit for $15 from your instructor.

Studying in Advance is REQUIRED:

After you register and pay for your class, you will receive via e-mail your online log-in credentials and you can begin your training. Your online training is interactive and engaging and includes videos, scenarios and games. You will also receive a link to the current American Red Cross Lifeguard Manual so you can download it and read it prior to your in-person training.

Completing your pre-work is a necessity to be admitted into the accelerate blended learning Lifeguard Re-Certification Program. It will also help you get the most out of your re-certification course. You must bring proof of completion of the online program to participate in class. Reading your manual will help you pass the written test. Not being prepared could result in failing the written test or a participant having to come back for additional training.
