Our students tell us again and again how much fun they have in class and how they love to work together as a lifeguard team to solve problems and practice water rescues. All of our instructors are current Aquatic Professionals, Lifeguards, and Emergency Medical Responders. Our instructors have years of experience and you’ll get the best, most relevant training in the industry. You’ll gain the confidence needed to prepare for a variety of rescue scenarios. No one in the region has trained more Lifeguards than us!
This Title 22 course fully satisfies all ADVANCE first aid training requirements. Title 22 is a section of the California Code of Regulations (CCR). It defines and sets out the training requirements for “Public Safety Officers”, which includes Lifeguards at government owned and operated aquatic facilities. You’ll gain in depth knowledge about medical emergencies, public safety, trauma emergencies and childbirth. Please check with your employer to see if they require this certification.
Class Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years old and pass certain swimming requirements: 300-yd continuous swim using front crawl (freestyle) and breaststroke. 2 minute tread using only your legs. Timed event – swim and retrieve a 10-pound object from a depth of 7-10 feet. Return to the surface with object and exit the pool without the use of ladder or stairs. Successful completion of the course includes a 2 year American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/AED First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22)certificate.
Students are also required to have an Adult & Pediatric Resuscitation Mask for the class and on the job. If you already own one, bring it to class. Otherwise you can purchase both masks in a kit for $15 from your instructor.
Please note: Class is non-refundable and non-transferable. Failure to complete course pre-work, or pass the prerequisite swimming evaluation, failure to show up or late arrivals, or failure of any portion of the class is non-refundable. The class will require some strenuous physical activity. You are encouraged to check with your healthcare professional before participating. If a medical condition or disability exists that might prevent participation in the activities, or if there are questions about fully participating in the Lifeguard course, please contact Safety Training Pros (916) 538-6447 to discuss this before enrolling.
