The purpose of this review is two-fold. The first is to practice, improve and polish skills to ensure instructors can perform the skills as well as be able to recognize correct and incorrect skill performance. Second is to ensure consistency of Red Cross program skills and knowledge across the instructors through feedback and evaluation from Safety Training Pros.
This review will help to polish your skills and ensure consistency with the current Red Cross Lifeguarding program. Each candidate must demonstrate as a primary rescuer as well as an assisting rescuer at least once for the multiple-rescuer response scenarios. To be successful, participants should be able to perform skills to the standard by the completion of the practice session.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 17 years old. Possess a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED. Obtain the Lifeguarding Instructor’s Manual and Lifeguarding Manual prior to entering the first classroom session of the instructor course. Successfully complete the online Lifeguard Instructor Update.
Students are also required to have an Adult & Pediatric Resuscitation Mask for the class and on the job. If you already own one, bring it to class. Otherwise you can purchase both masks in 
a kit for $15 from your instructor.
Please note: Class is non-refundable and non-transferable. Failure to complete course pre-work, or pass the prerequisite swimming evaluation, failure to show up or late arrivals, or failure of any portion of the class is non-refundable. The class will require some strenuous physical activity. You are encouraged to check with your healthcare professional before participating.
