This Instructor level class will train you to be able to teach the updated 2017 American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor curriculum including Lifeguard, Shallow Water Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Oxygen Administration. To participant, you must: be at least 17 years of age, have 2 years of lifeguard experience, and be currently certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard.
Lifeguard Instructor is a blended learning course, with both online and classroom components. All participants will be required to complete the on-line coursework prior to the first day of class. The class will begin with a written test and skills assessment. Only those who pass will eligible to continue in the course. Participants must pass all skills, complete all work, attend all days, and meet all standards to earn Instructor Certification.
