Renew your American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification in just one day with our in-person recertification course in Sacramento, California.
Held indoors in a heated pool, this course ensures you’re up to date with the latest CPR, First Aid, and water rescue skills required for lifeguards working in water up to 6 feet deep. Full attendance is required to complete the program.

The in-person session will focus on:
Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence
Jump in, submerge, resurface, and swim 50 yards using front crawl, breaststroke, or both (goggles allowed). Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs, then swim another 50 yards.
Timed Event
Within 50 seconds, swim 20 yards (no goggles), dive to retrieve a 10-pound object from 4–7 feet deep, and return it to the surface. Swim 20 yards on your back holding the object, keeping your face near the surface, and exit the water without using steps or a ladder.
Upon successful completion, students will receive the American Red Cross Shallow Water Lifeguarding (up to 6 feet) certification, including CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid, valid for 2 years.
