Wilderness First Aid for Scouts & Leaders
When your troop heads into the backcountry, being prepared means being trained. The Boy Scouts of America require at least one or two members of every high-adventure crew to hold current Wilderness First Aid certification, and all participants must have CPR/AED training from a nationally recognized provider.
Safety Training Pros offers courses that fully meet BSA’s WFA requirements, combining classroom instruction with hands-on practice scenarios that mirror real-life wilderness challenges.

Hands-On Safety Skills for Scouts & Leaders
- Wilderness First Aid (WFA): Open to ages 14+, meets BSA High Adventure requirements, and comes with 3-year certification. This 16-hour, hands-on course prepares Scouts and adult leaders to respond when professional medical help may be hours away. Participants gain practical experience in:
Patient assessment and scene safety
Chest injuries, shock, and heart attack
Head, brain, and spine injuries
Bone and joint injuries
Wounds and wound infection
Allergies and anaphylaxis
Building and using a wilderness first aid kit
- CPR & AED Certification: Give your Scouts and leaders the confidence to act fast in a cardiac or breathing emergency. This nationally recognized certification meets BSA requirements and includes hands-on practice using CPR manikins and AED trainers.
